Generation Business
- A business whose primary purpose is to generate electricity and supply it to an electricity retailer through an electricity market
Applying for a Generation Business License (and License Change)
- Anyone wishing to start a generation business much obtain license from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy. Should any of the business location, supplying voltage, type of generator, or the installed capacity change, one must apply for a license change.
Submitting the Application for a License
- Anyone wishing to obtain a license must submit the application form to the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the minister must submit to Electricity Regulatory Commission for a review in order to authorize a license or a license change.
- To obtain a license with a capacity of 3MW or less, the application form must be submitted to either the mayor of the special city / metropolitan city or the governor of the province that the business is in.
